Hi Everyone,
It's July now, and I have a new episode out with Richard Hipp about SQLite. You can find it here: https://corecursive.com/066-sqlite-with-richard-hipp/
SQLite is public domain and has a Christian blessing in place of a license agreement, so I went into the interview with the idea that Richard would be an unusual character who gave away SQLite for deeply held idealistic reasons.
The true story was much different. Richard is a normal and very talented software consultant who just put SQLite up on his webpage and saw it take off. He ended up building a career around i,t and it took him on some exciting adventures. Let me know what you think of the interview.
I also recently wrote an article about facial expressions and using video when working on a distributed team. You can find it here: https://earthly.dev/blog/video-camera-on/.
It showed up on Reddit, and I got a lot of pushback on this idea. I guess not everyone thinks video is helpful, or maybe people are just tired of zoom at this point. My situation is unique, but I don't find seeing my colleagues or them seeing me as being intrusive - I find it valuable.

Adam Gordon Bell April 2nd Hey! I have a new podcast episode out about this graph: I know that doesn't sound exciting, but it actually is! https://corecursive.com/briffa-sep98-e/ That is a famous climate change graph that caused a lot of controversy, with newspapers and news shows accusing scientists of fraud and deception. While scientists claimed they were victims of a targeted attack. I got a little obsessed with what actually happened. It happened 15 years ago, but the code is still out...
